Reimagining The Macdara Village in 6th Century
DRAWING TIME — A reimagined scenery of the construction of the
Macdara village on St MacDara’s Island.
The project is interested in the anthropology of the Macdara Island in response to the unit theme taking time. Brass wires, plaster bandage, threads and the shadows projected on model are used to record and capture evidence of activity, movement and construction on the island in the 6th to 12th Century, when the island was most
populated. The light paths mapped denote motion of people in their journey of pilgrimage.
I am interested in producing architectural drawings with mixed media to unleash the potential of conventional drawings, and to explore and develop architectural design in another dimension. Time, process and movement of people are also drawn to produce architectural drawings with atmospheric quality.
